Ten Days In Korea
August 7th, 2008Well I am back and recovered from my trip to Korea where The Facts In the Case of Mister Hollow premiered at the Puchon International Fantastic Film Festival. While there I got to spend some time with some old friends I hadn’t seen in a while, including Fantastic Fest’s Tim League and his wife Carrie, Simon (The Living and The Dead) Rumley, Nacho (Time Crimes) Vigalondo, Bruce (Otto) La Bruce, Tuomas (Delusion) Riskala, and the folks from Tokyo Gore Police and The Machine Girl, not to mention the entire team from PiFan. Following the festival a bunch of us managed to get down to Seoul to check out Gyeonbokgung, the main palace of the Joseon Dynasty. Later, a few of us went to the DMZ (Korea’s infamous demilitarized zone) where we caught a glimpse of North Korea’s notorious Propaganda Village and descended 25 stories into one of the hot, muggy tunnels that the North Koreans carved into solid granite as part of their invasion plans for the South. We even got to see the heavily mined demarcation line where a strong military presence tracked our every move. Anyway here are a few photos, wish I could have taken a few more but the military doesn’t like cameras. Besides, I just don’t like lugging one around either.
